The Hass Avocado is one of the most appreciated and demanded fruits in the world, for its multiple nutritional benefits and its delicious flavor. Peru is one of the main producers and exporters of this variety, which is grown in 17 regions of the country, from the coast to the mountains.
In 2023, Peruvian exports of Hass avocado reached 490 thousand tons and for this year an increase between 8% and 10% is expected, according to the Association of Hass Avocado Producers of Peru (ProHass). This means that Peru is consolidated as the second world exporter of this fruit, only surpassed by Mexico.
The main destinations for the Peruvian Hass avocado are Europe, the United States and Chile, which represent more than 80% of the total exported volume. However, new markets have also opened in Asia, such as China, Japan, Korea and India, offering great growth opportunities.
